Welcome from the Governors
It’s a real privilege, as Co-Chairs of Governors of St Mary Magdalene School, to welcome you to our website.
At St Mary Magdalene we try to put Jesus and what he teaches us at the centre of everything we do. This underpins the way we care for our children and each other. It also means that whilst we look for and expect the best possible academic success for each child, we believe that it is by sharing with parents in the development of each child’s character and their beliefs, that we set each young person on a path that will enable them to approach their future wherever that may be with confidence.
Ofsted, the Southwark Diocese Board of Education and the Local Education Authority share our high opinion of the school and this is reflected in the progress that children make in their years with us. We always delight in seeing the achievements and changes children (who come to us in Reception) demonstrate as they leave us at the end of Year 6.
Our website, school environment and our new uniform are centred around our School Core Values of each individual’s uniqueness, trust, honesty, love, peace, forgiveness, wonder, thankfulness, compassion and hope. We believe that these are more than ideas to be displayed, but rather qualities that children, staff, parents and governors can encourage each other to develop and also demonstrate towards each other.
Whatever your reason for visiting our site, whether as a parent/carer looking for our latest news, a parent looking for a school for your child or if you are wondering whether you could join our staff team, we hope you find all the information you need.
