Consultation on Proposed Closure

Southwark Council are consulting on the proposed closure of St Mary Magdalene CE Primary School in August 2025.

The consultation period is an opportunity for all stakeholders to share their views about the proposed closure. Issue details – The future of St Mary Magdalene CE Primary School –Southwark Council. We would like to invite you to attend an information meeting at the school for families on one of these dates:

• Thursday 27th February 2025 at 9am in the school hall,
• or Monday 3rd March 2025 at 6:30 online.

In attendance at the meeting will be officers from the Local Authority including representatives from the Admissions, Learning and Achievement team, Schools Human Resources as well as representatives from the school’s governing body and the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education.

There will further meetings over the forthcoming weeks to ensure that you have the chance to receive information and ask questions. The Local Authority will work closely with the school to arrange these and make the information in them accessible to all.

To ensure appropriate information may be provided at the meeting we would like to invite you to submit any questions via email before 5.00pm on Tuesday Monday 24th February to questions.education@southwark.gov.uk.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone who wants to attend is able to. If you have any accessibility requirements please speak to the school office no later than Monday 24th February to allow for arrangements to be put in place.
